Product Details

Debbie Arthurs is at the forefront of the burgeoning interest in the popular music of the 1920s and 1930s both as leader of The Charleston Chasers and, as here, with her own group, Sweet Rhythm. Her main influence is Annette Hanshaw – the ‘Personality Girl’. She possess excellent taste, effortless swing as well as perfect intonation and flawless phrasing in the style of her chosen era. She is, however, no mere copyist. She delivers with style, panache and an air of authenticity which never falls into mere pastiche. The members of the group are some of the leading exponents of music of the era and are on op form here. Her previous album sold extremely well and we expect the same here
