Product Details

In the legacy of recordings left by Humphrey Lyttelton there are one or two absolute gems of albums which tend to get overlooked. The LP 'HUMPH MEETS CAB' from 1960 is one such. It features the singer Cab Kaye (himself very neglected as far a recordings are concerned) who has a style reminiscent of Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis and, even, Billie Holiday. The original album forms the basis of this CD and it features Humph in a quartet setting with just his rhythm section - another rarity for Humph. The CD is filled out with some previously unreleased tracks by the full band and an EP which was only issued in Germany (although two tracks appeared on a single in the UK).
