Product Details

THIS CD HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN FROM SALE AND IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE **DOUBLE CD FOR THE PRICE OF ONE** The Clyde Valley Stompers was Scotland's most popular and successful bands during the Trad era achieving chart success on three occasions. Disc 1 of this compilation contains recordings made at Nottingham's Dancing Slipper Jazz Club. Excellently recorded, much like LACD326 with Bob Wallis & His Storyville Jazz Band, it give a rare glimpse of a band away from its 'commercial' side in a Jazz Club playing what it wants to in relaxed circumstances. The band plays extremely well and shows just what good musicians were in the band. Disc 2 Is largely made up of a concert which marked the retirement from the band of founder member, Ian Menzies. The band plays to a very enthusiastic crowd. The compilation is rounded off by three previously unreleased tracks and their last hit single.
