|One of the legendary bands of the British Jazz Revival of the 1940s. It contained several musicians who went on to have leading roles on the Jazz scene: Ken Colyer, Monty Sunshine, John RT Davies, Sonny Morris. The disbanded in the 1950s then reformed in the 1970s. This recording, part of the collection of recordings made by Allan Gilmour at the Dancing Slipper in Nottingham, features the band honouring a gig shortly after Ken Colyer died. It is a typical Cranes 'live' session with plenty of atmosphere and some good stomping Jazz.
